Smile MIM #113 Card 3

If you saw my second card post you read that I was having issues with the Perfect Pearls rubbing off the card.  Well I tried using a heat gun a second time on that card and then rubbed it and guess what happened?  It smudged the whole thing... I'm okay with it though as I wasn't really feeling the look anyway, so I erased the whole thing and started over.   I like the "do over" card much better.

My first thought when I saw the Star Gazer Addition set was the Death Star from Star Wars and that was the main reason I bought it!  Well that and the set of cards that Cristina Kowalczyk made.
While reading the PTI forum, people were discussing the smile stamp that is part of Sketched Shapes and how it reminded them of Yoda and I thought it would be a perfect sentiment on this card!

After brushing off the excess powder, I pounced the brush all around the card to make the galaxy.   I used an eraser over some of the dust to make it look more like a milky way.

MIM#113 Card 2 Reach for the Stars

My last order just got here! YAY! This is the first card from the new stamps.
It's not the greatest picture as the PP was super shiny in every angle I tried taking the picture...   I really do love the Perfect Pearls look but I am not sure I will use it often as it doesn't seem to "set".  I even tried the heat gun but it still smudges and takes my finger prints.

In my trial and error I found:
You can us an eraser to remove PP areas you don't like or that didn't turn out.  (I didn't get a complete impression the first time and I erased the entire thing and started over!)
For small/intricate spots a QuitckStik works wonderful!
I didn't have a Swiffer duster so I used a soft paint brush followed by a stiff one which really helped get most of the stray powder off.

Papertrey Blog Hop and MIM #113

It's time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  This month's challenge is: Tilted
Position a frame at an angle, tilt your text, add a background strip diagonally, create a border that has an incline, slant a sentiment block, the sky is truly the limit!

After browsing Pinterest for inspiration, I found this lovely card.

Here is my version:

I used a butterfly and sentiment from the Butterfly Dreams set.  I stamped them in Autumn Rose, Harvest Gold, Limeade Ice, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky inks.

For MIM#113 we were challenged to use Rangers Perfect Pearls on an image.  I punched five butterflies out with a Martha punch stamped them with a color and then stamped them with VersaMark Ink and then used Pearl on all but the Harvest gold which I used Gold PP.  I really like how these look.

Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out the other challenge entries and hop!

Fox Box MIM#112

Make it Monday #112
This is the first part of my mothers day present to my mom (her last name).  I made this box from craft card stock.  I used Canyon Clay cs for the fox and letters.  I embossed the letters with clear embossing powder and it gives it just a touch of shine.  I used copic markers on the eyes, nose and body of the fox and white fun flock on the ears and tail.

Hello Foxy! MIM #111

I made these for the Make it Monday challenge. The challenge was to water color a heat embossed image.  I think next time I will try it with a paint brush, this time I used a water brush and I felt that it put too much water on the cs which made the paper buckle.  I ended up die cutting out a second fox for each of these just to stabilize them.  I have been waiting to use a negative to the hello ever since I cut it out a few weeks ago.  I love it!
