Celebrate and Thinking of You Cards

Oh my gosh, have you used Gelatos before?  If you haven't you must try them!  I have to admit that I won a Mixed Media Sampler pack on Facebook last year and it still isn't open.   Last week I was in my local craft store and they had a metallic set on the sale table and I bought it actually opened the package and tried them out!  What a concept, using the things you buy.  :)  If you know know me you know I have several a couple of things that I just had to have but have yet to use them...shh, don't tell the hubby!
I started searching on You Tube and Pinterest for different ways to use them and came across this gorgeous card and had to give it a try!  The only thing I did differently was to use gesso on the parts of the paper where the gelatos were going to be used to help them blend a bit better.  I love how they turned out!  The second card I used metallic colors and it gives it just a slight glimmer.

The ink on both cards and stamp for the first card are PTI Summer Sunrise and Winter Wisteria.  The stamp on the second card and die are both from Lil Inkers.

PTI July Blog Hop

I made this card with a sketch from an online class I am taking Summer Card Camp 2.  It is a great class, so many techniques I haven't tried before.

All supplies Papertrey Ink, except the die cut, it is from Provo craft.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look!

Six Word Saturday 7/20/13

So when is enough really enough?

When are you tired enough of the status quo to actually make changes?  I've heard it said that when the time comes you will know, but I am not sure I believe that.

Wishing you all a stress free week ahead!

Celebrate Summer Card Camp

Week 2 Day 1 Card 1

We are on our second of three weeks in Online Card Classes Summer Camp 2.  I chose to use the first sketch with this card, at least the round part of the sketch...  I found the butterfly DP(I think it is Memory Box) in my stash and thought it would be perfect for this card on the bottom layer, but I found I liked it so much I didn't want it to be all covered up so I used it as the only layer!  The butterfly and banner are dies from a Papertrey Ink.  I stamped the water color paper with Versamark and then heat embossed it with off white.  The vellum was embossed with Zing leaf embossing powder.  I water colored the butterfly with PTI colors Limeade Ice, Spring Moss, Blueberry Sky & Spring Rain.  I thought it needed a little something more so I added antennae to the butterfly by using some red stamen that I colored black with my copic markers.

Happy Birthday SCC2

Week 1 Day 1 Card 2

I love the color combo on this card.  It is totally out of my comfort zone but I really like how it turned out.  This card did take more time than I would have liked it too, I finally gave up on measuring and drawing lines to keep things straight and just did everything by eye.  I did learn that I do not like to fussy cut!  Give me die's any day!

Thanks for stopping by!

I used Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, white cardstock, Ink (rf,hs,orange zest), die and stamps from Papertrey Ink

Back from one vacation needing another...

I think the next vacation, hopefully not another five years from now, will be somewhere where there are no phones, computer, noise or, and this is a big one, very many people.  I am thinking a warm beach somewhere with a book and nothing else.  That sounds more like a vacation to me.

Vegas was hot!  I mean so hot we went out in the early morning and after the sun went down in the evening.  So hot the air conditioning didn't make me cold.  I was a fun trip but just a bit more busy than I was looking for.

The hotel was AWESOME, if you get the chance to stay at the Venetian do it!  Stunning rooms, beautiful hotel, nice staff.

Unfortunately, Las Vegas will be around another day since I left my paycheck at the tables and in the slots...

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!
