Papertrey Nov Blog Hop

The challenge this month: Cover Art

Cover art is a wonderful source of inspiration and it can be found all around you.  Your challenge is to select one of my favorite covers (or a cover of your own) and use it as inspiration to create a really unique project.  Take things into consideration such as the layout of everything on the cover, the colors, the sentiment placement, etc.

My inspiration:

My interpretation:

So some of the things I learned doing this card, Glitter embossing powder is not for fine details like words...  Embroidery thread does not stay together after being cut and the shiny kind does not stay knotted.

Having said that, I think it turned out pretty well.  I like it better in real life.  This card shows my addiction devotion to PTI as I used stamps from A Little Argyle, Peaceful Garden, Take a Bough & Holiday Lights.  PTI Ink: Fresh Snow & Pure Poppy.  PTI CS Kraft. PTI Dies: Small Jar & Home for the Holidays.  Other supplies: DCWV Grey and shiny red CS, VersaMark, Yellow Stickles,  misc sparkle paper and floss.

Thanks for stopping by and wishing you a wonderful holiday season!

Six Word Saturday 11/24/12

Time to start decorating for Christmas...

I love the season and the reason for the season.  I love the decor.  Who would have thought that the time would come that I love it more in someone else's house...  My son is older so we don't have little ones to decorate for.  I do love sitting in the dark with the lights on the tree, listening to music, all the other stuff I can do without.  We don't have people over so it is just for us.  The husband wants it ALL out though, so up it goes.  This is one of those pick your battles situations that keep us married!

Happy Saturday!

Six Word Saturday 11/17/12

Thankful for everything in my life.

Good and bad...

Wishing you all a very happy thanksgiving and blessing to all outside the US.  Special prayers for those still in distress from the storms in the Northeast.

Happy Saturday!

Year of Flowers Cards

Lisa Johnson made these lovely cards and I had to give them a try.  The stamp set is Year of Flower from Papertrey Ink.

All supplies PTI except flowers colored with copics.

These were fun to make and go together pretty quickly, once the coloring is done.  I could see making more of these to give as gift sets.

Thank you for stopping by!

p.s. Funny thing, while I was adding the pictures I had to add them one by one and thought I kept counting wrong as it turns out, one picture was missing.  Then I found the pic and was still short one card, that is when I realized I only made eleven cards in stead of the twelve I thought I made...  After thinking I was going crazy for awhile, I decided I was already crazy!  :)

p.p.s.  haha!  I just counted again and I am still short some pictures!  Maybe I need to go back to grade school and learn to count again...

It's Christmas Time card

Beautiful inspiration card found here.

I used the linen IP plate on the Kraft card stock (both PTI) and the die cut lights are from Spellbinders colored with Spica glitter pens.

Card Inspiration

A couple of months ago on the PTI boards the question was asked if you have every cruised the greeting card aisle for inspiration.  I received this card for my birthday a couple of weeks after that question and here is what I made:

Close up picture of my card

The card I made is for my friend Dena. It is kind of funny because she is the one who gave me the inspiration card!  :)

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #90

I love this holiday lights set from PTI I just don't get to use it enough!  I love the look of the bulbs.  I am not overly excited about the red ink though, I used Festive Berries Distress Ink and it is too fuzzy for me.  I haven't really had this issue before but I usually stamp words with that ink rather than images so maybe that is what they are supposed to do...  Anyway IRL this card looks great.  I used DCWV Red Foil CS for the merry and it really catches the light.

Thanks for stopping by!
