Fall card
This color combo is totally out of my comfort zone. I found this video on you-tube the other day. I love the look and feel of gelato's. I wasn't liking this card at all but I just kept playing with it thinking I was just going to toss it but wanted to try blending different colors and painting the background and found that I really like it now! Not sure about a sentiment though. I will have to keep thinking about it.

Thanks!
I received my Gel Sticks and just couldn't wait to play with them. I think I need to get better watercolor paper as the kind I have seems to pill quite a bit while it is wet. When it dries it's fine and you can't tell where the pilling was but while wet and painting it is a pain!
These were a blast to play with! First I die cut the sunflowers and then painted them with the gel sticks. When they were dry I stamped them with the coordinating Simple Sunflower stamp using Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and then spritzed them with water. I think they turned out great!

Thinking of you Challenge Card
This is a card for these two challenges:
When I came across the sketch I knew exactly what stamp set, PTI Meadow Greens, and technique I wanted to use on one of my favorite blogs Dawn McVey (My Favorite Things).
The background turned out softer than I really wanted you can barely see the greens and blues and the paper pilled more than I thought it should. I think I will have to try a different watercolor paper next time. Over all I think it turned out okay.
Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI Melon Berry; Inks: PTI Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides; Gelato's: Green, Pink, Fuchia, Light Green, Light Blue, White; VersaMark; White embossing powder.

Celebrate and Thinking of You Cards
Oh my gosh, have you used Gelatos before? If you haven't you must try them! I have to admit that I won a Mixed Media Sampler pack on Facebook last year and it still isn't open. Last week I was in my local craft store and they had a metallic set on the sale table and I bought it actually opened the package and tried them out! What a concept, using the things you buy. :) If you know know me you know I have
I started searching on You Tube and Pinterest for different ways to use them and came across this gorgeous card and had to give it a try! The only thing I did differently was to use gesso on the parts of the paper where the gelatos were going to be used to help them blend a bit better. I love how they turned out! The second card I used metallic colors and it gives it just a slight glimmer.
The ink on both cards and stamp for the first card are PTI Summer Sunrise and Winter Wisteria. The stamp on the second card and die are both from Lil Inkers.
