Five Question Friday 5/24/13

This week’s questions & My Answers:

1. Do you wake before the alarm or stay in bed until the last possible second?
I usually wake before the alarm and then lay there until the last possible nano second!

 2. Who should get a baby shower? Is it just the first baby or all babies?
I think all babies should have a shower!  They are all special!

 3. How will you spend Memorial Day?
It is supposed to rain most of the weekend so I will probably be playing in my craft room!  (Don't be a hater!)  :)

4. Do you have a Storm/Hurricane/Tornado/Fire plan for your kids, house..?
I have a couple of escape ladders in a closet somewhere... Not good I know.  Maybe the hubs and I can work on that this weekend.  Put together an emergency kit and put the ladders where they are needed.  Thanks for the little push!

 5. What is your favorite morning drink?

Starbucks baby!  Venti Peppermint White Mocha, Not Fat, No Whip and Stirred.    :)

Five Question Friday 1/25/13

 

This week’s questions & My Answers:

1. Do you embrace or dread snow/cold weather days?

If I can stay home from work and have food in the house, I LOVE snow days!  Otherwise I dread them.

2. Which game show or reality show could you totally win?

Price is right.

3. What is your preferred climate?
Hawaii.  Hawaii is a climate right?  Hawaii!

4. What do you buy every time you walk into the grocery store, no matter what?
Cold cereal.

5. If you see a spider/bug in the house, are you brave enough to kill it, or do you call for your hubby?
I have no problem with a bug but spiders I have BIG problems with.  I call the hubby, the son sometimes I get the cat if no one else is around.  I have called my dad at work, if I can’t get ahold of anyone I leave the house until someone gets rid of it.

1. Where do you hide junk when people come over?
I used to hide dirty dishes in the oven...

2. Do political ads help you decide who you are going to vote for?
No, I usually know after the primary who I am voting for so all of the ads are annoying! Only 18 days to go! 

3. What's your favorite holiday party to host?
I don't host parties for others but I always cuddle up with a blanket and hot cocoa for It's a Wonderful Life to have a party of one.
4. You go to an island with your husband and can only take one personal item. What is it?
Earplugs...
5. If you found out your spouse was a Dexter style serial killer (only kills people to save others) would you rat?
Hell no, the next "other" he would want to save is himself and I would be wacked!

1. What album/cd/download are you embarrassed to admit you have?
Eminmem - Lose Yourself  (bad language) 

2. What's the one thing your spouse does better than you?
He is my bug killing hero!
3. When do you start buying Halloween Candy?
I used to start buying mid October but it seems now if you don't buy it before October there is not thing left.

4. Family closets - Yay or nay?
I don't know what a family closet its for sure, but if it is what I am thinking, big NAY!

5. Which home/cleaning chore do you hate the most? Why?

Cleaning toilets!  Nasty. I would rather do the kitty litter.

Five Question Friday 9/21/12

 

This week’s questions & My Answers:

1. What is one grammar issue you cannot let go without correction?

Grammar?  What is grammar?  Wait, isn't that someone on Real Housewives?

2. What's your favorite thing about fall?

Everything!  The crisp air.  The colors.  My birthday.  FOOTBALL!

3. What's your favourite dish to take to a potluck?

I only do one potluck a year and it is my family reunion.  I bring store bought fried chicken and usually only eat what I brought.  I'm a little ocd about germs and food that others cooked (even family).

4. When do you start Christmas (Holiday) shopping?

I only buy a few gifts and that is usually a day or two before for Christmas.  I am big on homemade gifts, so I am buying supplies for that all year round.

5. Did you move homes a lot growing up?

Nope we only moved once.  Thank goodness.  I could not have handled more that one time.

Five Question Friday 8/3/12

 

This week’s questions & My Answers:

1. What is a must in a hotel room?

 

Honestly, anything I write down will make me sound like a snob.  I like a clean bathroom, especially the shower floor.  I like to have a chair in the room so that you don't always have to sit on the bed and air conditioning is always a plus!

 

2. Which Olympic event would you be best at? 

 

HAHA I would get a Gold in sitting on my butt!  I suck at pretty much everything else.

 

3. What's your stance on the Chick-fil-A subject?

 

Mama's answer summed up exactly how I feel!

4. One thing you said you'd never do as a parent, but totally have.

 

I plead the fifth!

5. What's the weirdest thing you've ever found at a yard sale?

 

Again Mama's answer fits me to a T! Although after reading about the utensils, I think I might need to take a page out of Howie Mandel's book and start bringing my own with me when I eat out...

Five Question Friday 6/22/12

 

This week’s questions & My Answers:

1. What do you keep a stock pile of?

Nothing really.  I would like to have more tp & paper towels on hand but sadly the hubby says no.  We do buy ours at Costco in packs of 48 & 18 so it's not like we don't have some on hand, I just want to make sure we don't run out...

2. If Ben & Jerry asked you to invent an ice cream, what would it be?

First thing that popped into my mind was caramel apple pie.  I have never had it but is sounds good.  I also think that a kettle corn flavor would be yummy.

3. How do you blow off steam?

4. What would you do if you had an hour to yourself anywhere within a ten mile radius of your home...no kids, no hubby, just you?

Grab a latte and head to the craft stores just to wonder around.  I look at almost everything in the store just to see it.  I don't usually buy anything that I don't need but it is just nice to see what else is out there that I might want to do in the future.  As long as there are not screaming little ones in the store, it seems to relax me.

5. When you were 16, what was your curfew in the summertime?

Sun-Thurs 10pm, Fri & Sat 12am that was the standard.  It changed based on what I was doing and who I was with.  RARELY did it change to a later time to come home...

This week’s questions & My Answers:

1. Would you grow your hair out to donate it?

 

I would if I could.  As someone who has Alopecia and wears a wig 24/7 I think it is an awesome gift for someone to give.

2. What song makes you think of summer?

Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves!  I can hear it anytime and it makes me smile and think of summer!

3. Are you a flip flops or sandals kind of person?

 

Flip flops if they don't make the flip flop sound.  Otherwise sandals.

4. Favorite summer treat (ie ice cream, snow cones, etc)?

 

Does Maragrita count?  If not, a mint oreo blizzard from DQ.

5. Do you do something special for the father of your children?

 

I usually make a card for my husband and that's about it.  When my son was younger, he and I made dinner and we worked on crafty gifts.  But now that my son is in his 20's I usually just tag along out to dinner.  It's kind sad cause those were some fun times.

1. What advice would you give a couple getting married?
 
Don't do it...



2. If you could tell your 16 year old self ONE thing, what would it be?
 
Ignore the oppressors and just SHINE!
3. What do you do to keep cool in the summer? (AC, windows, fans, swimming, etc.)



I didn't want AC (too expensive for WA where it doesn't get hot...) but hubby talked me into it.  Best decision ever!




4. What did you (or your wife) crave most while pregnant?
 
Fish and chips, which was really strange as I didn't eat fish at that time...

5. Who is your favorite TV mom? Why?


I don't have one, but the first person to come to mind was June Cleaver.  I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom for my sons first seven years and I can honestly say, I NEVER looked like June at the end of the day...

This week’s questions & My Answers:

1. What giveaway would you like to do on your blog?

 

Money!

2. If you had to choose between natural artistic ability and natural athletic ability, which would it be?

Honestly, I would be happy with either one.

3. Do you ditch the coat the minute it becomes "spring" or are you a holdout for more cool temps?

I live in the Pacific Northwest, Spring starts around 

Memorial Day and Summer starts July 5th.  I always have a jacket with me!

4. What would you do if you won the mega millions lotto of 1/2 billion dollars?

I would take care of my immediate family, pay for college for my son.  

 

Possibly start up a business that helps people get/find the help that they need.  I had a friend that needed help recently and it was difficult for me to get information on how/where to go to get help.  I got a lot of run around and I would like to find an easier way for people in need to get that information as quickly as possible.

 

I would also take a vacation.  A nice long one!

5. You are at a hotel by yourself...what do you do?

 

Read a book or watch TV.  I have no problem being by myself, I would not be bored.
