Six Word Saturday 3/30/13

Pictures from the beach last weekend.

Great name for a fishing company!
Never going out on this boat!
But maybe one of these boats!
The best fish & chips ever!
Some visitors came to see us.
They help keep the weeds down!
Very pretty but kind of chilly.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a Happy Easter.

p.s.  Jo we can make it a threesome any time just say the word!

Chats on the farmhouse porch 3/19/13

It's Tuesday and that means its time to pour a cup of tea and have a little chat, won't you join me?

Everyday Ruralty
This weeks questions and my answers:

Furry Bottoms asks: Did you grow up in a small town, or a big town? Did you like it?
Small town.  I didn’t like it when I was younger but love it now.  I actually live in the small town next door.

Lisa wants to know: If you could pick one song to hear for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Karen asks: What are your pet peeves?
Chewing food (gum, paper, etc.) with your mouth open.  Passive aggressive people, people who beat around the bush (just say what you mean!).

Colletta says: Do you remember your dreams? Only bits and pieces.. Are they in color or black and white?  Color.  What is the craziest dream you've ever had?  Nightmares of a spider coming at my head from the ceiling…  I haven’t had one in awhile but I used to have them all the time.  One time I even jumped over my husband to floor on his side of the bed to get away.  It’s funny now not so much then…

Rachel asks: What is the perfect pair of shoes for you?
Born Romeo type slip on shoes.  Love. Them.

Thanks for stopping by.  Be sure visit the porch every Tuesday for more chats and to join in on the fun!

Wish Big

As soon as I saw Kara's beautiful card I knew I had to CAS it!

This stylish sentiments stamp set is going to get a workout, it is awesome!  My favorite stamp is the small stripes which fits the alphabet letters perfectly!  I added a little sparkle to the stars with a Sakura pen but everything else is Papertrey!

Thanks for stopping by!

Six Word Saturday 3/16/13

I heard my bitchy cat purr!

She will be ten years old next month and if she purred as a kitten I don't remember it.  She likes men more than women(even though she comes to me for food!) and my husband has heard her purr before.  She doesn't like to be held at all by anyone.  She will play occasionally if our other cat is no where around.  She will allow you to pet her only if you catch her sleeping.  I came home early from work and she was sound asleep and I started petting her and she actually liked it and after about ten mins. she started purring!  It was awesome.  I hope I don't have to wait another ten years to hear it again.

Wishing you all a purrfect week!

Slow Cooker Apple Crumble

I have recently found a new apple, new to me anyway, called Honey Crisp.  They are sweet like a red delicious and crunchy like a granny smith.  They are on the expensive side though...  Since I found them in the winter, I am hoping that come summer and fall they will be a little cheaper.  Anyway, I found them at Costco for a good price.  Of course the good price was not so good since there were too many apples for me to eat...  So I went in search of something to make with them.

I found this recipe on the blog how sweet it is and since I love using my crock pot I thought this was perfect to try.  The smell of apples and cinnamon has been filling the house all afternoon making me hungry!  It was delicious but VERY sweet.  This coming from someone who LOVES anything sweet, even the super sweet frosting on bakery cakes!  We did not add the ice cream although it would have been good it would have made me sick.  I think the next time I make this I will use (only a little) less sugar and possibly use granny smiths to give it little tang to it.  For normal people I think you could easily get six servings out of this maybe more if you add ice cream but for people like me whose servings tend to run on the larger size, you can get four.

I will be making this again!  If you give it a try let me know what you think.

Like a Rainbow

While on Pinterest the other day I came across this beautiful card.  I loved the butterflies she made and had to give them a try!

While mine weren't as multi-colored as Suzanne's I think they are still pretty.  I will keep playing with different colors to see what I can come up with.

Be sure to check out Suzanne's blog for inspiration and this tutorial if you want to give these a try.

Chats on the farmhouse porch 3/12/13

It's Tuesday and that means its time to pour a cup of tea and have a little chat, won't you join me?

Everyday Ruralty

This weeks questions and my answers:

1.  Beth asks: What’s your favorite movie of all times? The one you've seen multiple times.

No way can I narrow that down to just one!  Bad Boys, The Italian Job, The Holiday, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi…  I tend to have the TV on in the background while I am crafting or surfing the net and one of those always seems to be on.

2.  Clairity says: Name three things that are permanent residents in your handbag or purse.

Fingernail clippers, Excedrin Migraine, change at the bottom.

3.  Red asks: What's the best way to your heart?

Thoughtfulness and kindness for others.  Smiles!

4.  Mamaw wants to know: Do you like going to yard sales?

Not no, HELL no.

5.  Cathy says: If you could slide down a rainbow, what do you think you'd find on the other side?

Wet grass.
