Six Word Saturday 9/29/12

Costco on a Saturday?!  I'm nuts!

My husband insists on going with be because he thinks it saves him money...(haha)(evil laugh)  I still get what I want, maybe not on the same trip, or when he is with me, but I still get what I want.  :)

We are still married after 24 years, what he doesn't know, makes my life a lot easier.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

Thankful

It was sunny when I made this but I was needing some fall.  I wanted to play with my word dies and is what happened.  It took less than five mins.  I think this is the first time I ever made one that quick!  :)

Papertrey Blog Hop 9/25/12 & CPS 284

The Challenge this month it is all about wrapping it up.  Whether you are preparing early for the holidays or have an upcoming birthday or two, have fun experimenting with fabric & felt packaging ideas.  Use any of our Favor It dies with felt and a little hot glue gun action or stitching.  Use a pretty piece of fabric like you would wrapping paper and make a custom tag to coordinate with it.  Not into sewing or gluing?  Wrap a kitchen towel or cloth napkin around a special bottle of wine and top it off with a hand-stamped gift label.  Or rip a strip of fabric to use in place of ribbon and finish it with a pretty handmade gift card.  There are so many different things to try, you will love experimenting to see what you can come up with!  We look forward to seeing your projects!

What I came up with:

On this one I tried to actually make a gift with the vellum envelope but it didn't want to cooperate.
So... There is an envelope with a wish big card inside!  The layout is based on the sketch on CPS blog.

What I came up with:

I love these roses they are made using white and gold satin fabric held over a candle flame which curls the edges.

No garage sale for me today!

After I finish cleaning the closets we will be making a Goodwill run.  I am pooped because I have a lot of crap to go through and I am only about half done!  I want to start making some things to sell and promised myself that I would have everything cleaned out by my birthday and that I can not start/buy anything until it is done.  My birthday is Monday so you can see how I do things...I wait until the last minute!  :)

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

Five Question Friday 9/21/12

This week’s questions & My Answers:

1. What is one grammar issue you cannot let go without correction?
Grammar?  What is grammar?  Wait, isn't that someone on Real Housewives?

2. What's your favorite thing about fall?
Everything!  The crisp air.  The colors.  My birthday.  FOOTBALL!

3. What's your favourite dish to take to a potluck?
I only do one potluck a year and it is my family reunion.  I bring store bought fried chicken and usually only eat what I brought.  I'm a little ocd about germs and food that others cooked (even family).

4. When do you start Christmas (Holiday) shopping?
I only buy a few gifts and that is usually a day or two before for Christmas.  I am big on homemade gifts, so I am buying supplies for that all year round.

5. Did you move homes a lot growing up?
Nope we only moved once.  Thank goodness.  I could not have handled more that one time.

Head on over to FQF and join in the fun!

Thanks for taking a look!

With Sympathy 2

These are the last of my sympathy cards for my friends.  Hopefully I won't need to make more anytime soon.  With this card I went way back to last April's PTI Botanical Silhouettes and a design that I came across back then. You can see my previous post here.  I made three of these as they are really quick to make.  Now that I have them out I might make a few more and leave the sentiment off, just to have some any occasion cards on hand.  I like the top card better, I was worried that the sentiment wouldn't show up over the flowers so I tried it on the bottom first but I didn't like it.

Wishing you a wonderful day!

With Sympathy

This is another sympathy card I made for some dear friends for the loss of their grandson.  I looked for inspiration in the gallery at splitcoast stampers and came across this lovely card.

Deepest Sympathy

Unfortunately I have had a need to make some sympathy cards.  A young man lost his life way too soon, in a dirt bike accident.  He was only 23.

This is the first of the cards I made. I looked for inspiration in the gallery at splitcoast stampers and came across this lovely card.

Six word Saturday 9/8/12

Garage sale in two more weeks...

I absolutely hate garage sales.  Going to them, having them, thinking about them.  My son and husband want to take part in our neighborhood sale coming up.  It is only for one day so I said I would do it.  UGH.  I think we would just be much better off taking everything we were going to sell and donate it to Goodwill.  Less work, plus a tax deduction.  That's a win, win in my book.

I'll let you know who wins...

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Mr. Bones' Halloween Spook Out

Papertrey Ink is having a Halloween blog hop called "Mr. Bones' Halloween Spook Out".  You can see some of the other awesome creations and read more about it here.

I had a lot of fun making this card.  I think it turned out really cute. Not sure where the sentiment stamp is from I have had it for years and the ghosts are stamped with Memento Tux Black on Cerulean and then cut out.  The house was already cut out and colored brown so I took some grey Copics to darken it up and make it look spookier.  I stamped the windows with the crackle stamp to make it look like they are all cracked.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
