31 Days Recap

YAY! I wasn't sure I would actually be able to post every day but I did!

While I had a lot of fun this challenge turned out to be more time-consuming than I had planed for it to be. It is my fault though, I mistakenly thought that it would take no time at all to find Movies and Music for 31 days, so I decided to add two more challenges to my task list: Photo's and Creativity!

Turns out I didn't make too many comments on the movies or music, though I did have a blast watching and listening during my search(that may or may not have been where my time was sucked up...). While I posted a picture everyday, they weren't all taken on that same day, don't know that is a requirement but it is what worked for me. Then it comes to the creativity challenge. I am crafty, but this one was hard for me and why is it that work goes crazy as soon as you start something new at home? Luckily I took two classes in one day and made 14 cards! You read that right, FOURTEEN! Needless to say I slept the whole next day! But having that many cards ready for the blog helped me quite a bit and left me with time to create at a slower pace and enjoy the process rather than being stressed.

I have only visited a few blogs during the month but now that the challenge is over I will make a point to go back and visit more of them. To make a long story longer, I had a great time with these challenges. Next time though, I will not try to tackle so much at once so I can enjoy the process and make a point to visit more blogs doing the challenge.

This is one of my favorite stamp sets!  It is called The Sweet Life from Papertrey Ink.  I first saw a version of this card on the cover of Cards magazine that was made by super talented Leigh Penner whose blog I follow.

This is not a great picture but the card is beautiful in real life.  The flower is stamped in white and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  You can find the flower stamp at Papertrey Ink.  The background stamp is called envelope pattern from Hero Arts.

I am hoping that this challenge will improve my photo skills.  I will be taking a picture a day loosely based on the list above.  I say loosely because I am not sure how to take a picture of some of the things listed.  I guess it means I will just have to be creative!

CAS(E) this Sketch #47& cQc#208

After seeing this card I decided to give these challenges a try.  So I got out my washi tape and my halloween stamp set that just came in the mail on Thursday!  This is what I came up with:

What's that you say you don't see any washi tape?  Hmm, weird because it was on my table, this is the second time in a week I had a plan in mind and something else is what I ended up with!  Is that a sign of a genius?  I think so!  ;)

I used distress mustard seed on the moon.  I stamped and colored the image and the sentiment with distress pumice stone. I used walnut stain distress marker(DM) for the broom, tattered rose DM for the face and DM pumice stone for the rest of the image.   The more I look at this the more I like the clouds, I used cut and dry foam inked with pumice stone and brushed it on.  I think they look wispy. 

You know what?  Now that I am typing this out I realize I used more than the three colors for the cQc oops!  I guess I won't be linking to that challenge after all!  You can tell I obviously don't know how to count past three!   :)

Merry Christmas-PTI Sept Blog Hop

I think this is my favorite of all the cards I made for this months hop!  It is simple but elegant.  This card from pinterest was my inspiration.

Stamp from Christmas Blessing.  The berries are gold dots that I colored red with a copic marker.
