Record heat across US this week!

With the hot weather coming up this week around the country please remember to keep watch on your pets. The pavement is very hot on the pads of their feet and can easily burn and blister! Dog's only sweat through their feet so try and keep them as cool as possible.

One more wake up 'til vacation!

Vegas!  I will be taking lots of pictures with my iPhone and posting them on instagram.  You can follow me here, if you would like to see some of the places we visit!  I am hoping we make it to the Grand Canyon but with the temps going above the 115/46 mark I'm not sure we will make it out there.

I think this chevron plate is going to be getting a workout!  I love it!  I used the gold shimmer paper for the first time and it is lovely.

This is a case from this card I found on pinterest.   I pinned this a long time ago but came across it while looking for inspiration.  It was quick to make and I got to use my new Spring Moss ink and paper!  I love it! (The card and the color!)

This is my second card for this challenge.  I am really liking the technique!  I decided to go with all vellum this time as the soft blue of the flower seemed to not need anything in the background.

I need to clean and organize...

Several rooms but I really don't want too...  I would rather craft or read a book or play with the cat or...pretty much anything else!  :)

Thanks MIM #121

This weeks Make it Monday challenged us to work with Vellum!  I love vellum and don't use it as much I would like to because it is usually hidden under all my pretty paper but I really do like it!

As I was looking through my stamps for a flower set I came across this one.  Hydrangea's are my favorite flower.  So I thought I would give it a try.  

I've seen a few cards recently that have ink dot paper and wanted to give it a try...  Not what I was hoping for.  I got a mix of large spots and little dots...  I will have to keep trying until I get it just how I want it.  

This was a cool technique as the ink dried a lot faster than I thought it would.  I have stamped on vellum in the past and it usually takes a good 24 hours before you can touch it this didn't take nearly that long.  :)  

I will be looking for another stamp set tomorrow to try this technique  again!

Happy Birthday Simon Says Stamp Challenge

 
So thanks to Leigh Penner (enabler) and her lovely inspiration, I purchased some Crate Paper products to play with.  :)

I am really liking the colors in The Pier line.  To me it reminds me of summers in the 70's.  That was a fun relaxing time for me. 

I don't use chipboard much but these shapes are so fun I don't think I will have any trouble using all of them!

I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge, the challenge is Transport.

Finally taking a vacation!  Vegas bound!

In two weeks for a week in the hot dessert sun!  It's been way to long since my last non-working vacation, over four years.  I am going to enjoy every second of this one!

Welcome MIM#119

The MIM this week asks us to use flagged borders.   It was very hard for me to not have all the flags straight... I do like how this turned out though!  Dawn had a great tip for the little scallops using the heart die and I love it!  Check out her video here.

Happy Holidays FFC09

Okay I know it is only June first but I have been meaning to join this challenge since it started earlier this year.  I just couldn't bring myself to get my Christmas stamps back out.  (I think I have more Christmas stamps than any other, even flowers!) 

This challenge uses the classic Christmas colors of Red, Green and Gold which was all I needed to breakout those stamps!

I bought this Santa stamp (Stampendous) at an after Christmas sale last year so this is my first time using it.  I love it!  The Happy Holidays is from PTI Stylish Sentiments Holiday.  I used white fun flock on the hat.  I paper pieced the red hat from plain red cardstock and colored the rest with Copics.
