PTI Day 1 Challenge Card 1

These cards were made based on some of the PTI designers favorite cards over the years.  I made three and they were all made based off of Maile Belles designs.  I really can't pick a favorite designer on the team because they are all extremely talented.  In my true form I waited until the last minute and created these cards in the last two days...  I did have a lot of fun doing it though!

Chats on the farmhouse porch 2/12/13

It's Tuesday and that means its time to pour a cup of tea and have a little chat, won't you join me?

This week's questions & my answers: 

1. Are you doing anything special for Valentine's Day?

No we don't usually do anything special, he will sometimes get me flowers.  It's just another day in paradise for us!

2. When you attend something that isn't totally casual, are you likely to wear dress pants or a dress?

I usually wear pants, only because I don’t have many non formal dresses.  Not that I have many formal dresses either…

3. Do you use a regular toothbrush or one of the battery run kind?

I have a manual toothbrush. 

4. Did you have valentines in school when you were a child?

I did, we would give valentines to all of our classmates and sometimes have a party.

5. If you could learn a new craft tomorrow, what would it be?

Hmm, as a crafty person you would think this was an easy question for me…  I guess it depends on how you define craft.  If it is a skill, I would like to learn woodworking.  This would be very useful for the other hobbies that I have such as decorative painting.  I would like to learn to speak Spanish and Italian.  I would love to learn Yoga!  If you define it as a hobby type craft then I want to learn how to sew.  Is that too many answers for one little question?  Haha

PTI Sketch Challenge 2nd Card

PTI Sketch Challenge

PTI is Celebrating it's 6th year and today Nicole is having a sketch challenge I chose sketch 5 to try out.

I had a little issue with holding on the ink pad and dropped it on the card...  So rather than toss the paper I just used the part that was remaining.  I think it would be perfect with a Hersey bar!  I used the Heart Prints stamp and kind of grunged it up a bit, I like how it turned out.

Six Word Saturday 2/9/13

p.s.  I wasn't able to visit and comment last week because my husband wanted to go shopping at Costco and I had a little incident... Here is my Facebook entry for that afternoon:

Okay it's official, I am old, clumsy and most certainly not a bumble! I don't bounce, I do more of a thud... I chased after a cart in the Costco parking lot, tripped over (what had to be a really big rock) but was really just air... Managed to fall on my back and knock the wind out of me. I didn't hit my head, which I think is a good thing, but couldn't see for a few seconds then shoppers were getting annoyed because I was in the middle of the road and they couldn't get to a parking stall to go shopping... I will be fine, I am sure that I will be more sore tomorrow than I am today. Point is, I am 45 and if it's this bad now I am not sure I want to be 65, 70 etc... Good news is I didn't land on my face and break the only pair of glasses I have! :) My glass is half full!

Luckily I wasn't too sore, I soaked in a bath with Epsom salt which I think helped.  I only had a couple of bruises, so all is good now.  Lessons learned, don't go to Costco on a weekend and hold on to the cart at all times!  :)

PTI Year of Flowers Challenge

Today Nichole challenged us to use our YOF stamps and this is what I came up with:

I have the YOF Collection set, I don't use them enough.  I made a collection of cards using this set last year I may do that again and give as gifts.

PTI Printables Card

It's Papertrey Ink's 6th Birthday! Today's challenge was to use some of the printables that the very talented design team designed.  This is what I came up with...

I'm not happy with this card at all...  This is totally out of my comfort zone with colors and designer paper.  I find I buy all kinds of DP but I don't seem to use them much.  I couldn't find any DP in my stash with colors I was looking for.  I don't care for the way the ribbon shows the score tape and looks wrinkly.  That being said, I made it and good, bad or indifferent I am posting it!   :)  I do like the layout it is from Mojo Monday last month.
